Emirates Crown Apartment

Located in Dubai Marina, this apartment combines modern design with natural warmth. The entrance is lined with wooden panelling that sets a warm tone for the rest of the home.

The main strategy was to make the most of the space around the existing columns and shafts. The kitchen walls were removed to open up the kitchen, which fills the whole living area with light.

To warm up the house, statement wood elements were used throughout, including wall panelling from the entry through the internal corridor, the TV wall and the bookshelves.

The existing layout had a long blank wall running the length of the living area, so it was important to break it into usable sections. The TV wall and bookshelf divide the open layout into two seating zones, one formal and one informal.

The warm wood tones are paired with rust accents in the furniture and artwork. A central kitchen island connects the kitchen to the living area, so the home works well for hosting larger groups.

The wood panelling leads towards the bedrooms, where full-height doors sit flush with the panelling. The bedrooms are planned around the marina view, with wood tones continued in the headboards and wardrobes.

In contrast, the bathrooms are kept moody and dark with a play of various shades of grey through marble and tiles.
