We were inspired to commemorate this moment by doing what we know best, Design. Motivated by this feat we took it upon ourselves to create something that reflected the pride, the ambition, and of course, hope. Creating a designer rug that curates to these concepts. Whimsical metaphor of hope and conquering of the unknown. The gentle folds of hope wrapping around an unattainable dream. From free flowing to linear forms, it depicts the journey from nature and humanity to modern technology and new ventures of the unknown. Bringing in forms of fluidity with modernity, a metaphor for UAE - A country deep rooted in their cultures and traditions while constantly evolving to new heights. The UAE is keen to expand its science and technology sector to transform the country into more of a knowledge-based economy. Instilling a culture based on discovery and exploration. Empowering the dreamers and thinkers, giving them a platform to blossom where sky is not the limit. A space for boundless ambition and where dreams come true. It all started with the idea of hope. We were so inspired by the feat, we looked for a way to channelize all those feelings into design. A bout of furious brainstorming and sketching resulted in “the series of hope” and starting off the collection with this rug as the first product.

While considering the concept of hope and how to convey such an emotion, we curated certain moods, colors and textures to portray hope. The organic forms that represent life and all its multitudes, grabs almost like a hand unto the extended finger of technology, innovation and ambition represented by the orbiter’s wings as it wanders the outer space -the final frontier of technology and science. In the context of hope, a conscious effort has been made to make the rug sustainable yet luxurious. With approximately 15% of recycled PET yarns, 25% Viscose and 60% wool, the carpet is Handmade by a reputed production house in India. The Rug shall be launched under the UAE Designers Exhibition for Dubai Design Week 2021.  Making rugs out of recycled PET yarn is an innovative, sustainable method of reducing the impact of plastic bottles on the environment, and reusing them in an advantageous way. With 75% less CO2 emission than virgin polyester. A 100% sustainable material that gives you the luxurious look and feel of wool with no synthetic coating.
